Halkirk Young Farmers Club Kicking Off Anniversary Celebrations
Halkirk Young Farmers will turn 70 next year and following their recent AGM, current members are holding an open meeting for all past members to discuss the programme of events for the 2016 celebrations. The meeting is to be held in the Ross Institute, Halkirk on Wednesday 25th March at 7.30pm.

Caithness Science Festival 2015
The 2015 Festival will get off to a flying start with a busy evening of shows, workshops and prizegiving at the Festival Launch at Pulteneytown Academy School 6,30pm. Introductory addresses by Professor Iain Baikie, Councillor Gail Ross and Lord-Lieutenant Anne Dunnett.

Wick High Oscars Night Puts Friendship First For Life
In what was undoubtedly a first for Wick High school Murray Watts, script writer and director in the film industry compered an evening of short films and Oscar awards. Murray introduced and interviewed his friend author and TV presenter Sally Magnusson describing their family connections over many years.

Wick Medical Centre Staff Present Cheque To Caithness Heart Support
Caithness Heart Support Group's funds received a welcome boost, recently, in the shape of this handsome cheque for £1,386 from the two practices at the Wick medical centre. The cash represented the proceeds from fundraisers organised by the staff each year, for local charities.

Caithness International Science Festival 2015
As well as the schools programme, this year there will be activities for the general public throughout the week, including: Public Launch Event: Pulteneytown Primary Academy School, Tuesday 17th March at 6.30pm Festival Patron Lord-Lieutenant for Caithness Anne Dunnett, along with Festival Chairman Professor Iain Baikie, will launch this year's Festival and present prizes to the winners of this year's Schools Design Competition which were kindly donated by Kongsberg Maritime Ltd. There will be performances by various presenters, along with "taster" workshops that were on offer to the school children throughout the festival week.

Three chairs for Thurso medical practice
Dr Anna Seborova tests one of three, padded, phlebotomy chairs presented to Thurso and Halkirk medical practice, by Caithness Heart Support Group. In addition, a mobile drip stand and an emergency first aid/responder bag were handed over.
