Maternity Unit In Crisis Consultants - Too Many Locums A new local lobbying group "CHAT" Caithness Health Action Team has been formed by a group of local Caithness people concerned about a variety of matters affecting health services in Caithness.   These vary from Maternity where many more mothers in recent times are being sent to Raigmore hospital in Inverness, Lack of consultants, Locum cover, Lack of GP's.

Just less than a week separated Halkirk and Melvich Primary School's village litter picks but the weather couldn’t have been more different.  Both village litter picks were undertaken as part of the schools Eco-studies programme and registered with the Keep Scotland Beautiful campaign and each event received assistance from The Highland Council’s local Countryside Ranger Paul Castle.

Records were broken for the numbers of models on show and for the numbers of people coming along to view the amazing collections that had come from both Caithness and many other parts of the country.  The Model Show has now purchased its own tables so no longer needs to make a round trip to Dornoch to borrow them.

Monday March 28, 2016 11.00am - 1.00pm Easter Mask Making, Dunnet Come along to the Seadrift Visitor Centre and have fun making and decorating your very own Easter mask using everyday objects.  All materials provided, just bring your imagination.

Hidden Landscapes: LiDAR survey of a multi-period landscape in Caithness (by Charlotte Douglas, Graeme Cavers & Andy Heald).   From the Caithness Field Club Bulletin 2014 Caithness is well known for its spectacular archaeology but aerial laser scanning surveys carried out in the county have revealed glimpses of the hidden archaeological landscapes that are less easily appreciated.
