10/8/2015The Hidden Bronze Age
Saturday 15th August Join Melissa and Romain of the School of Ancient Crafts as we explore how plants and herbs were used in the past. This workshop will include a spot of foraging as well as making soap with native herbs, using pot-boilers (hot stones) to heat milk and make a soft cheese, baking bread next to an open fire, and much more! Join us again on Sunday 16th August to learn how to build a prehistoric oven in which we will bake fish and bread.

Caithness Heart Support Group Presents More Medical Equipment
CAITHNESS Heart Support Group handed over the latest items of medical equipment it has funded. Wick medical centre's Riverview Practice received an ECG machine and the Pearson practice, a blood pressure monitor and a pulse oximeter.

Caithness Heart Support Group Praised At 2015 AGM
CAITHNESS Heart Support Group was praised for its role in advising people on the lifestyle changes which could pre-empt heart attacks, as well as supporting them, before and after their operations. The warm tribute, paid at the group's AGM, came from the county's Lord Lieutenant Anne Dunnett.

From the Caithness Field Club Bulletin 2014 Caithness is well known for its spectacular archaeology but aerial laser scanning surveys carried out in the county have revealed glimpses of the hidden archaeological landscapes that are less easily appreciated.

The annual Caithness Model Boat Show for 2015 was once again held at the British Legion club in Thurso on 9th May 2015. The winners were as follows - John Webster followed by Ted MIller, Billy Macintosh,and Robert Mowat.

Thrumster Primary Easter egg hunt/Coffee morning eggxellent success!!
Thrumster primary opened its doors at 10am on Monday the 30th of March 2015 to allow parents, friends and family to attend a coffee morning to raise funds for a school trip to Orkney. Whilst the adults enjoyed a cup of tea or coffee and purchased from the many stalls set up, the children of all ages took part in an Easter egg hunt.

Improve Your Health - Visit The Pentland Hotel On Saturday 18th April 2015
CAITHNESS Heart Support Group is hosting a major awareness event aimed at helping people to maintain and improve their health. Arranged on a drop-in basis, at the Pentland Hotel, Thurso, it will feature six organisations, the Caithness Diabetes Group, Wick Wheezers, the community stroke services of Chest Heart & Stroke Scotland, North Highland Cancer Support, Befriending Caithness, and Caithness Deaf Centre.
