Candidates standing for Caithness, Sutherland and Easter Ross in the General Election have been challenged to spell out what action they would take to support local health campaigners if elected as an MP.   Scottish Labour's Olivia Bell said she was keen that the action part of supporting the local community wasn't lost in hot air and fine words.

Highland Council Fostering and Adoption service is issuing a call for at least 20 more foster families in the Highland Council area to come forward and be assessed as Foster Care Fortnight 2017 begins across the UK.   According to The Fostering Network, the UK's leading fostering charity which runs Foster Care Fortnight, over 7,000 more people with the right skills and experience are needed to offer loving, stable and secure homes to children and young people across the UK.

Join us for a walk along the breath taking cliff tops of Caithness for the 3rd in our series of 7 ranger guided walks along the East Coast, following the John O'Groats Trail.  There's a lot to see on this walk - two beautiful harbours, sea stacks and nesting seabirds, coastal flora and a ruined Norse keep.

Heart Research UK and SUBWAY Healthy Heart Grants Heart Research UK has re-opened its Healthy Heart Grants scheme to not for profit groups, voluntary organisations and registered charities in Scotland.  Organisations have until the 4th July 2017 to apply for funding of up to £10,000 for projects that actively promote Heart Health and help to prevent, or reduce, the risk of heart disease.
