Duncansby Head Join Orca Watch founder, Colin Bird, as he watches for orcas! You can come along for as little or as long as you like, but if you think you can offer upwards of an hour please drop us a line so we can get organised! Please dress sensibly for changeable weather and bring the food and drink you may require for the length of your watch. Duncraig Educational Trust Scheme - Closing Date 31st May
The Duncraig Educational Trust Scheme can provide financial assistance to young Highland people who meet the essential criteria for the scheme. These are: Young people with an exceptional or unique talent And, who attend or attended secondary school in the Highland Council area Or, whose parents or grandparents attended a Highland secondary school for a minimum of two years There are two categories of award with different age groups being eligible to apply for each category: Sports grants are available for 14 to 25 year olds who have been selected to participate in sporting events at national or international level and, or who require specialist sports coaching, training or equipment to compete at national or international level Grants for 16 to 25 year olds undertaking specialist courses of study in arts, language and heritage, science and environment and or to purchase specialist equipment for such courses To apply go to - http://www.highland.gov.uk/info/899/schools_-_grants_and_benefits/30/duncraig_educational_trust_scheme.17/5/2017

Funding Opportunity - FCC Environment Scottish Action Fund
The FCC Scottish Action Fund offers funding of between £2,000 and £50,000 to projects from FCC Environment through the Scottish Landfill Communities Fund. Local Authorities, charities, parish councils, church or community organisations and voluntary groups can apply for funding of between £2,000 and £50,000 for land reclamation works; community recycling projects; the provision of public amenities and parks; biodiversity projects; and the maintenance or restoration of historic buildings.16/5/2017
