Labour Party Visit To Caithness Hears About Third Sector and Health Issues From CHAT
A visit of the Labour Party Leader in Scotland Richard Leonard MSP accompanied by Rhoda Grant MSP heard from the third sector and Caithness Health Action Team (CHAT) about problems arising to the community from changes to health provision and wide range of topics. Roger Saxon the local Labour party organiser and Alan Tait from Caithness Voluntary Group facilitated the meeting at the Pulteney Centre in Wick.[History]

Caithness Disabled Access Panel
The Caithness Disabled Access Panel meets on the last Wednesday of the month in the Pulteney Centre between noon and 2pm. The aim of the panel is to campaign so that disabled people have the same opportunities as everyone else. It looks to achieve full access and inclusion for everyone. It does this by working together - including people with any type of impairment, statutory organisations and disability organisations. Panel members would be delighted to hear from anyone who shares their goals and might want to get involved with their work. Francis Street Bowlers, Wick Supports 3 Local Groups
On Saturday 13th April 2019 the members of Francis Street Bowlers made three generous donation to three local groups. A day spent playing bowls at the opening day of the season at Thurso Bowling Club was followed by a buffet tea after which they presented the cheques.15/4/2019

John O'Groats Mill Trust Receives £348,064
OVER £500,000 FOR FOUR COMMUNITY OWNERSHIP PROJECTS. A sports hall in Easterhouse, a disused mill in John O'Groats, an area of amenity land in Strathpeffer and a stretch of foreshore on the Isle of Skye will soon be in the hands of local people as four community groups receive financial support from the Scottish Land Fund. Announcement of the grants was made by Minister, Cabinet Secretary for Land Reform, Roseanna Cunningham.[History]

Recruiting volunteers has become increasingly difficult these last few years, and with the 1st May looming we are realising that we will possibly be struggling this season with who we have; two of our regulars have opted to become ‘standby', meaning they are only able to help on an emergency basis.7/4/2019

The group meets monthly and is for men who have you been affected by cancer, either as a patient or in support of someone else?
