Caithness Community Halls Receiving ‘unseen' Help
Community owned Halls across Highland are receiving much needed help from perhaps one of the most stigmatised groups in society, namely those with a criminal record.  Staxigoe Hall near Wick is a great example, where the Community Payback team has helped with the refurbishment of the Hall three times now.

Caithness Family History Society held a very successful book launch at the Old Smiddy Inn, Thrumster on the morning of Saturday 25th May.   The book is Fiona Begg's "Ulbster Burial Ground," which contains photos and transcriptions of all visible gravestones, plus some extra family information about the people recorded on the stones.

Wick St Fergus Church To Close And Merge
On Tuesday, 14th May2024, the convener of the Mission Planning Committee, Monika Redman of Cleir Eilean I (the new Presbytery for Highlands and Islands ) met with members of our congregation to unveil the new Presbytery plan as it affects Wick St Fergus Church.   Not everyone could attend hence this short statement.
