A New Book About The Ulbster Burial Ground
10th June 2024
Caithness Family History Society held a very successful book launch at the Old Smiddy Inn, Thrumster on the morning of Saturday 25th May.
The book is Fiona Begg's "Ulbster Burial Ground," which contains photos and transcriptions of all visible gravestones, plus some extra family information about the people recorded on the stones. There are also extracts, dating from 1890 till 1913, from the Ulbster Burial Ground Committee Minute book.
A few dozen people turned up to buy signed copies of the book, to look at family photos and to chat about their own connection to the area.
The books are for sale at The Gift House in Dempster Street, Wick, and at Gail's Gift Box in the High Street as well as via the society.
Caithness Family History Society can be contacted on [email protected] and has a website and Facebook
