Telling tales in an entertaining way
MOST of us enjoy a good story and here's an opportunity to hear a few of them. Caithness Heart Support Group's latest speaker is Eric Farquhar who will be delivering a selection of fascinating tales at the Norseman Hotel, Wick on Wednesday night - 4th November 2015 Group press officer Noel Donaldson said: "Eric has a great way of delivering these stories and I am sure it will be an entertaining evening." The story-telling starts at 7.30 pm in the Norseman's Heron Room.24/10/2015
New ECG Machine Presented By Caithness Heart Support Group
THE Town and County Hospital's Newton Wing, at Wick, now has an ECG facility which will enable patients to have their hearts checked on-the-spot, without having to visit the town's Caithness General Hospital. Local schools join forces during beach clean
Mount Pleasant Primary School P5 class (+ Eco committee) joined Miller Academy Primary School P6 class to undertake a clean-up at Thurso Beach in Caithness on Tuesday 6 October. Mr Harper from Mount Pleasant and Mrs Phares from Miller Academy brought fifty eight children in total to join forces with Paul Castle and Sam Watson the Highland Council Countryside Rangers and other helpers including Mrs Urquhart, Mr Boyter and Mrs Morris.8/9/2015

The 2016 Safer Highlands J Rock™ will take place on Wednesday 20th April before the Safer Highlands Rock Challenge® on Thursday 21st April. 13/8/2015Caithness Horizons Museum welcomes half a million visitors.
Tuesday 11th August saw local group No Limits Caithness visit the Museum for a morning packed with Viking activities with Curator Joanne Howdle, or Thordis Eiríksdóttir as she is fondly known to local groups and schools. The group helped the Museum to hit the half million visitors mark and to celebrate they were presented with a special cake made in the Museum's cafe.[History]

Saturday 15th August Join Melissa and Romain of the School of Ancient Crafts as we explore how plants and herbs were used in the past. This workshop will include a spot of foraging as well as making soap with native herbs, using pot-boilers (hot stones) to heat milk and make a soft cheese, baking bread next to an open fire, and much more! Join us again on Sunday 16th August to learn how to build a prehistoric oven in which we will bake fish and bread.28/7/2015
