Bumper Cheque For Caithness Heart Support Group
BIG CHEQUE and a sizeable amount to match...that's the sum total of a charity cycling challenge undertaken by Wick riders Arthur Robertson (left) and Willie Macdonald, recently. The enterprising pair clocked up some 78 miles circling the county in demanding weather conditions, to raise a impressive £2,500 for Caithness Heart Support Group.

Published in the Caithness Field Club Bulletin Vol 8 No. 1 - April 2013 Mr Clark, A Caithness Remittance Man (by George Watson) The John O'Groat Journal, March 2nd 1836, carried the following obituary:- "Died on 9th ultimo, at the house of Mr Sutherland of Bylbster parish of Watten in the County, Mr James Clark, generally believed to have been the husband of the late celebrated Mrs Mary Ann Clark remarkable for having acted such a conspicuous part during the trial of his Royal Highness the late Duke of York.18/9/2014

Yarrows Heritage Trust located near Thrumster has a number of projects and one of them for the last few years has been the restoration of the Thrumster Railway Station that was once part of the Wick Lybster railway. Recently the Trust managed to locate and recover the original station platform sign.

2015 Caithness Calendar To Boost Caithness Heart Support Group
THE winter reflections scene at the Riverside, Wick, is just one of the many scenes in Caithness Heart Support Group's 2015 calendar. A limited number of copies will be available at the group's latest fundraiser at the Norsemen Hotel on Saturday night, featuring the Caithness Big Band.

Big Band Bash Could Boost Heart Group's Funds
THE popular Caithness Big Band returns to Wick's Norseman Hotel, later this month, for a charity bash in aid of the Caithness Heart Support Group. It's one of the group's biggest fundraisers and tickets both for the event, on September 13, and raffle, are available.
