Waverley Care are running a Rapid Testing clinic in Wick on 3rd May 2016 in the evening.   They are the only organisation funded to provide this service in the Highlands.

Subsea 7 will be moving the final two towheads for the Premier Catcher project from Wick Harbour to Wester Site over the next few days.  It is planned that the first towhead will travel the route through town just after 9.00am on Thursday 7 April 2016 , with the remaining towhead following on Sunday 10th April 2016 - exact timing will depend on how the Police direct proceedings.

The Highland Council Countryside Rangers will be presenting a wide range of events in this years North Coast 500 Wildlife Festival which will focus on the wildlife, heritage, history and nature travellers on the iconic route can spot.   The Rangers have joined with a host of other organisations including North West Highlands Geopark, Scottish Natural Heritage, John Muir Trust, the RSPB, Flow to the Future, Caithness Wildlife Tours, Coigach and Assynt Living Landscape and the Bumblebee Conservation Trust to develop a fantastic programme of guided walks and other events for people of all ages to enjoy.

Road Safety at School Crossings - Thurso - Police Scotland
Police in Thurso are urging motorists to drive safely around schools following a number of reports of drivers failing to stop at school crossings.   Three incidents of drivers failing to stop when being signalled to do so by a school crossing patroller using a lollipop sign have been reported.

Pupils from Wick High School have been undertaking a range of maintenance and environmental project work at Newtonhill Croft Woodland.   The youngsters meet two to three times a month and have undertaken path improvement works, bird box builds, wild flower meadow maintenance and much more.
