Mey Hall Sponsored Cycle Raises �1700 For New Hall Project
Mey hall committee held a sponsored cycle on Sunday when twenty four cyclists took part and raised around �1,700. The sponsored cycle is one of many fund raising events the hall committee are running in their bid to get enough for new hall.7/7/2006
Pulteneytown People�s Project Summer School
Pulteneytown People�s Project Summer School will be running for three weeks from the 3rd � 21st of July at Wick High School from 9.00am � 5.00pm . The Summer School is open to children aged 5 � 14 years and offers affordable child care for working parents as well as fun filled days for any children who are looking for activities during the summer holidays.3/7/2006

Army Cadets On Fieldcraft Weekend At Broubster
Caithness Army Cadet Force held a fieldcraft exercise weekend at Broubster Forest near Reay as the culmination of the Company's training before annual camp. Activities included living in the field, camouflage, observation, tactical movement and patrolling.30/5/2006
Wick ATC Cadets At Highland Wing - Sports Drill and Competitions
On 13th May members of 1285 (Caithness) Squadron travelled from Wick to RAF Kinloss to participate in the Highland Wing Drill, Aircraft Recognition and modelling competitions. High School exams limited the numbers of cadets who were able to travel, but attending the events were James Bamfield, Christopher Bremner, Yeager Coghill, Kerry Wilson, Kerry Smith, Diane Banks and Steffi Niwa.12/5/2006

Awards 2006 At Annual Parents Evening
Miss Anne Dunnett, Lord Lieutenant of Caithness, was inspecting officer at the Thurso Air Cadet�s Annual Parent�s Night and Presentation of Awards in the Royal British Legion Thurso at the end of April. In addressing the cadets, Miss Dunnett highlighted their high standard of turnout and emphasised that, by being part of an organisation such as the Air Cadets, they were all youngsters who were doing something to make a difference in their lives.11/4/2006
Flying Start to the New Year
Local Air Cadets, Sergeant David Struthers from Thurso and Corporal Christopher Bremner from Wick had a flying start to the year when they attended RAF Kinloss for their Gliding Scholarships. They arrived at Kinloss early on the 2nd January, and spent a week learning all the knowledge and skills required to successfully complete the course.25/2/2006
Residents Welcomed Back To Bayview
Residents at Bayview House, Thurso, were welcomed back to the residential home this week following a �380,000 refurbishment to meet new standards. Councillor David Flear, Convener of The Highland Council's Caithness Area Committee, and Councillor Bill Fernie, Chairman of the Caithness Area Social Work Committee, greeted the first residents to return to the home following an eight-month absence.17/1/2006

Pulteneytown People Pick Up Training Tools For Retail Trade
A new fund aimed at assisting regeneration of the Pulteneytown area of Wick will help see fifteen local people trained over the next three months (October to December) in the 'Principles of Retail'. A ten week course has been set up by North Highland College with Scottish Executive Community Regeneration Funding, and targeted primarily at unemployed people living in the Pulteneytown area of Wick.1/9/2005
