Portskerra Story Telling Festival 2013
Traditional Culture � Stories � Art � Fun & Gathering People in the North This is the most northerly Storytelling Festival on the mainland of Scotland � come and visit the festival and have the bonus of seeing spectacular scenery and historic archeological sites scattered everywhere up here � even with all the windfarms they are building and planning. We are based in a small traditional style hall (Melvich Village Hall - check for us on Facebook) in the midst of the traditional fishing and crofting villages of Portskerra and Melvich with a fabulous background of traditional stories and Gaelic /Norse culture and ceilidhs, music, song and edged by glorious fishing and surfing beaches and the sea.8/10/2013

Funding Opportunity - Enterprise Ready Fund
John Swinney Cabinet Secretary for Finance, Employment and Sustainable Growth announced the Enterprise Ready Fund at an event on 6th September stating "Social enterprises, voluntary organisations and community organisations play an important part in Scottish society. New campaign launches to help reduce chewing gum litter
How do you bin yours? The Highland Council has launched a new campaign today (Monday 7 October) with the aim of reducing littered gum in the local area. Encouraging residents to �Bin it your way�, the council has partnered with the Chewing Gum Action Group (CGAG), an organisation chaired by Defra and funded by the chewing gum industry, to tackle gum litter in the UK.6/10/2013
