Police in Thurso appeal for information following damage to work vehicle
Between 2300 hours on Saturday 15th of November and 0730 hours on Sunday 16th of November 2014 on Stainland Drive, Thurso adjacent to St Johns House, damage has been caused to the passenger side window of a parked Scotland & Southern Energy 4x4 works vehicle. Police appeal for information following damage to property in Wick
Police are investigating an act of vandalism which took place between 1200 hours on Saturday 15 November and 1200 hours on Monday 17 November 2014 at Dunnet Avenue, Wick, whereby a glass window of a property was damaged. Police would like to encourage anyone with any knowledge or who witnessed any suspicious activity in the area around the time to make contact.17/11/2014
Police in Caithness appeal for information following death of sheep near Lybster
Police in Caithness are investigating an incident that took place between Friday 14 November and Saturday 15 November 2014, whereby four sheep died and two were injured after being attacked on land at Reisgill, south of Lybster. The attack appears to have been carried out by another animal, possibly dog/dogs.17/11/2014

Police in Thurso are conducting enquiries into a report of a person behaving suspiciously in the area of Miller Academy, Thurso, at about 13.20 hours on Friday 07 November 2014. The man is described as tall and skinny build, about 20 years of age with black or brown hair with stubble on his face.14/11/2014
Council reinforces commitment to tackle bullying behaviour in Highland schools
The Highland Council is to enhance its policy on anti-bullying in schools after members of the Education, Children and Adult Services Committee (12 November 2014) agreed to introduce a new ‘Positive Relationships and Bullying Prevention Policy, Guidance and Toolkit' to all Highland schools. Chairman of the Council's Education, Children and Adult Services Committee Councillor Alasdair Christie said: "I commend this new policy and review on how we will address bullying behaviour in our schools.13/11/2014

Police in Thurso appeal for information following theft of mountain bike
At around 2310 hours on Tuesday 4 November 2014, a silver Townsend mountain bike was stolen from outside an address at Riverside Terrace, Thurso. It is described as being old, with a buckled rear wheel and with "gripshift" gear shifters.7/11/2014

Joint fire and police investigation to take place after fire at a property in Thurso
Update 5 November 2014 29 year-old man reported following a fire at a flat in Thurso Following reports of a fire at a flat on Bayview Terrace, Thurso on Tuesday 04 November 2014, a 29 year-old man was taken to Caithness General Hospital where it was ascertained that he had suffered no long term injuries as a result of the incident. As part of an ongoing investigation, officers can confirm that the 29 year-old man has subsequently been reported in connection with the incident.5/11/2014

New report shows encouraging signs for seabirds in Scotland
After declines over the last two decades, seabird numbers show encouraging signs, according to new statistics by Scottish Natural Heritage (SNH). There are, however, a number of birds which are still declining, including kittiwakes and Arctic skuas, whose Northern Isles' breeding strongholds have seen large declines over a number of years.
