Over a third forget of people in Scotland forget to say goodbye to loved ones
BHF Scotland survey finds that heart disease may leave many without a final goodbye.   New statistics from the British Heart Foundation (BHF) Scotland reveal that nearly three-fifths of people in Scotland (59%) don't tell their partners they love them before leaving the house each morning and nearly a quarter (24%) don't usually kiss their loved ones goodbye.

Old Wick High School Buffet Ball - The Last Dance
Wick High School Parent Council are preparing to hold a walk around and the Old High School and a last dance prior to the move to the new Campus in October..   On Friday the 9th of September 2016 from 6.30 pm on there will be an opportunity for members of the public to come along and have a look around for one last time prior to the schools closure.

Caithness Girl Aims To Help Orphan Kids In Nepal
From Lois Gray, Castletown My daughter, Nicola Gray (17) is running the Glasgow half marathon, to raise money to volunteer in Nepal with GVI.   She has taken a gap year to help orphaned children there.

Women Against State Pension Inequality (WASPI) - Meetings In Caithness
Women Against State Pension Inequality (WASPI) is a national campaign group that fights the injustice done to women born in the 1950s (on or after 6 April 1951) regarding the changes to their state pension age A recently formed Caithness WASPI group has been set up by Aileen Shanks (Thurso) and Lorna Simpson (Wick).   They are holding meetings in Wick and Thurso to raise awareness of the issue and would like to encourage women born in the 1950s to come along and hear what has been happening with the national WASPI campaign.

Peter Youngs book recently published "Ice Cream, Cakes and a Very Long Walk".   Peter walked from Land's End to John O'Groats over a period of 3 years and 7 months, covering 1,535 miles during 107 days of walking.

Here it is! Lands end (Cornwall) to John O Groats (highland) In aid of (Air Ambulance - RNLI - UK Homes 4 Heroes) Admission is £20 per vehicle and all funds raised will go to the charities as mentioned above.  The convoy will run over 4 days to give people time to rest.
