Yarrows Heritage Trust is located in the far north of the Scottish mainland at Thrumster, a small village 6 Km south of Wick in Caithness. The Trust, set up in 2002, takes its name an area of upland that extends from Thrumster to the Clyth to the south. Our aim is to preserve and enhance access to all aspects of Yarrows historical, cultural and natural heritage and to raise the profile of the area as a recreational resource for local people and for visitors.

Archaeology Dig to start at Iron Age site in Caithness
The University of the Highlands and Islands Archaeology Institute, in partnership with the Yarrows Heritage Trust, are preparing for a fourth season of excavation at the Burn of Swartigill in Thrumster, Caithness, Scotland. Yarrows Heritage Trust located near Thrumster has a number of projects and one of them for the last few years has been the restoration of the Thrumster Railway Station that was once part of the Wick Lybster railway.
