Forse House

Photograph of Forse HouseForse House, the first Residential Nursing Home for people with learning disabilities and learning difficulties, opened its doors in October 1986, amidst great changes in the care provided for this client group. Prior to opening Forse, Derek and June worked in local hospitals in Inverness having completed their nursing training in General Learning Disabilities and Psychiatric field.

Residential Nursing Home in the Highlands of Scotland - Care in the Community and Social Services for Learning Difficulties. Disabilities and Terminal Illness or Long Term Care.

Due to the constant cutbacks and staff shortages within the N.H.S, they became frustrated by the lack of service being provided to the client group and decided to look into opening a facility that could provide their clients with the lifestyle they were entitled to including a tailor-made care package to meet all of their clients needs including development to help them reach their maximum potential and perhaps move on to a more independent setting.

Our residents receive a commitment from the nursing directors which is second to none. Whilst maintaining our high standards, we also never lose sight of the fact that Forse House is the residents home.

Larger groups such as Forse House have proved that they not only work well but are actually one of the most effective ways of allowing individual choice with unrivalled peer access, giving residents as complete a lifestyle as they are capable of choosing, within their personal disability.
