WHO ARE WE?
The Caithness Mental Health Support Group is a voluntary non-profit making organisation. The group runs two centres one in Wick (The Haven) and one in Thurso (Stepping Stones).
AIMS
The aim of the centres is to provide a balance of activities, support and understanding in relaxed surroundings, which will encourage an increase in confidence and self-esteem of the members.
Social, educational and leisure activities will be provided either in groups or individually.
All staff will treat information and discussions in a confidential manner.
MEMBERS
Part of the Support Groups function is to encourage an understanding of Mental Illness and the promotion of Mental Health. We can also provide a range of information about other organisations who can offer help.
Come along and meet us, have some refreshments and offer any suggestions you may have.
A strong emphasis is placed on personal choice and members are encouraged to participate in decision making and the development of the centre.
Caithness Mental Health Support group is funded by the Scottish Office in conjunction with Highland Regional Councils Social Work Department and is a recognised by the Inland Revenue as a charity.
