Free Drama Workshop At Wick Players

As you may know, the SCDA Caithness District Drama Festival of One-Act Plays is being hosted by Wick this year and will be held in Wick Assembly Rooms on Saturday 25th February 2023 (Poster attached for details).

This year's festival is being adjudicated by Mr Dave Bennet, who has been involved with theatre for nearly fifty years directing and acting in all types of productions. Although now retired from full-time lecturing , he has taught acting, directing and technical theatre to honours degree level and remains active as a verifier for the Scottish Qualifications Authority He has been a drama adjudicator for many years , adjudicating youth and adult play festivals throughout Scotland and Northern Ireland and only last year adjudicated the Scottish Finals in Orkney and he is making a return visit to Caithness when he adjudicated the Highland Divisional Finals in Wick in 2017.

Mr Bennett has very kindly offered to provide a FREE drama workshop in Moray Street Drama Centre on Sunday 26th February from 12-2pm, when he will then leave for his long trip home to Wishaw. Wick Players have unanimously agreed to host this. The workshop would involve building up enthusiasm and interest and any area the clubs would like to enhance their skills and confidence in, this could be anything from realising a production from start to finish. Dave would welcome all adults aged 16 and above.

We would very much like to promote this opportunity as wide as possible, and to gauge interest from people who would like to come along so that we have a rough idea of the number of people.
