A Helping hand This Christmas - Festive Task Force

Christmas is fast approaching, and Highland Third Sector Iinterface want to make sure there is a safety net for people who are struggling this year. The festive period can be a difficult time for a lot of folk anyway, but this year we anticipate that the situation will have intensified.

Many of the statutory and third sector services there to provide support are closed at this time, and more have reduced their service due to Covid.

We have begun mapping what services are available, for example for food provision and mental health and wellbeing. We need your help to! Tell us about your service. Will you be open, closed or a reduced service? This can help us find the gaps in provision, so we can try to plug any gaps.

We are opening our Church Street cafe in Inverness, 6 days a week, throughout the festive period to allow people to drop in to use the community food table or to take away a hot meal. We will be providing more details on this, and the outcome of the mapping, soon.
