We are aware that a number of organisations in Caithness and Sutherland were unsuccessful with their application to the Third Sector Resilience Fund, or decided not to apply in the first round. We understand that in the majority of unsuccessful cases, Scotland wide:

1)The applicant did not demonstrate immediate need (i.e. able to cover their costs for more than 12 weeks)

2) An alternative fund was more appropriate and they were referred to Wellbeing or other fund (Doing something new to respond to emerging needs as a result of COVID)

3)there was insufficient information in the application to make a decision

The fund is still open and you are encouraged to reapply if circumstances have changed and/or you are now able to provide more evidence. You can find information here: https://scvo.org.uk/support/coronavirus/funding/scottish-government

In addition, in case you have not seen other communications from partner organisations, it has recently been confirmed that charitable organisations are eligible for the Small Business Support Grant available from The Highland Council , if you meet the other stated eligibility criteria. You can find information here: https://www.highland.gov.uk/coronavirus/businessgrant

If we can help in any way, please do not hesitate to contact either myself, Martin or Karina (cc'ed)
