Fostering and adoption stats for 2018/19 out now
1st August 2019
The Care Inspectorate have just published the annual report on fostering and adoption services in Scotland between 2018-19. These services continue to perform well, with 90% of fostering services and 95% of adoption services evaluated as ‘good' or better by our inspectors.
The chief executive Peter Macleod said: "By highlighting good practice and identifying areas that can improve, we help ensure that all children can get the best possible start in life.
"We also know that more high-quality fostering and adoption places are needed for vulnerable children. We are also aware that too many children are separated from their siblings when a place is found for them.
"It is important that children in care are supported to form loving relationships as quickly as possible, and an important part of this is almost always maintaining the strong bond between siblings."
