PROUD NESS OUT-REACH EVENT
9th August 2018
The Highland Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender and Intersex Forum have organised a Proud Ness event in Inverness on 6th October 2018, which will be supported by an out-reach event in Thurso Precinct on 11th August 2018, 11am to 4pm.
The out-reach event is being held to increase the visibility of the LGBTI+ community in the Highlands and to provide space for the community to come together to reduce isolation. It will also be promoting the Proud Ness event in Inverness on 6th October, as well as other Highland LGBTI Forum events and information about other LGBTI+ groups and supporting organisations in the Highlands.
There will also be an opportunity to socialise with other LGBTI+ people over lunch in a nearby cafe. If anyone wishes to come along to the out-reach lunch, please let our Secretary know, so we know how many spaces to book. We will then let you know where and when we have booked.
Proud Ness will be the first large scale event for LGBTI+ people in the Highlands since 2002, when Pride Scotland decided to take its annual event outside Edinburgh and Glasgow for the first time.
The Proud Ness event on 6th October 2018 will start with a parade through Inverness to Eden Court, where various information and arts and crafts stalls, speakers, entertainment and workshops will be held for LGBTI+ people, their families, friends and allies. To round off the day, there will be a disco in the evening in the Mercure Hotel.
Details of all the events and our contact details can be found on our Proud Ness Facebook page:
