Flooding Wick Area - Police Warning
1st February 2014
Police in Wick are seeking to remind members of the public about the possible dangers associated with flooding after a number of people have been reported as "sightseeing" near The Shore and Scalesburn areas of Wick and may be placing themselves at significant risk.
High seas and rising water can be very unpredictable and whilst the tide may be subsiding at this time there are reports of further high tides and flooding over the weekend.
The public have been asked to please consider not only their own safety but also that of the emergency services in what could end up as a potentially life threatening situation.
Police thank the public for their assistance in this matter.
If you need to contact police about a possible safety matter, please call us on our non-emergency number, 101. If you see someone in distress and in need of immediate assistance please dial 999.
