Can cook, will cook says chef Laird
15th November 2013
CAITHNESS Heart Support Group is hosting a cookery demonstration tomorrow night (Saturday) and it promises to be a tasty affair.
Chef Laird Sutherland, who is also a group member, is coming out of retirement to conjure up some mouth-watering recipes at the demo, scheduled to take place at the Family Centre in Bank Row, Wick.
Hes keeping them under his chefs hat but says you wont be disappointed at tasting time. The culinary event gets underway at 7.30pm.
Space is limited so be sure to come early. The cookery event is the latest in the heart support groups fundraising programme to finance medical equipment for local surgeries and Caithness General Hospital.
The photo shows the latest beneficiary, Wick's Town and County Hospital. It received the latest 24-hour heart monitor and area hospitals manageress, Pauline Craw (seated front) tested it and can confirm the machine is the "bees-knees". Also pictured are, from the left, heart support members, Janette Sinclair, John MacLeod, chairman Ernie Ross and Town and County senior charge nurse Karen Macleod.
