MSP David Stewart Highlights FREE Eye Tests For Drivers
5th August 2013
Highlands & Islands MSP and road safety campaigner David Stewart, in partnership with Macrae & Dick and Tesco Opticians, Inverness, have come together to launch a campaign to highlight that 1 in 6 road collisions may be caused by drivers with poor eyesight.
The Group are campaigning for a change in legislation which will mean that new drivers will have to undergo a proper eye examination by a qualified person before they can drive and drivers will require to have their eyesight tested every three years thereafter.
The campaign, called the DRIVE campaign, will also encourage drivers in particular to have their eyes checked regularly in the meantime and highlights that you can get your eyes tested for free in Scotland.
