Armed Forces Day Events In Thurso - 29th June

Thurso Branch of the Royal British Legion Scotland plan to hold a number of events on Saturday June 29th 2013 at their Riverside Clubrooms to mark Armed Forces Day.

The day will begin with a Coffee Morning at 10am which will have the Mina Mackay Dancers on hand to provide entertainment. There will also be some other novelties to help give an AFD flavour to proceedings.

In the afternoon from 2pm to 5pm and again in the evening from 6.30pm to 7.30pm the hall will contain stands by differing groups to form a varied exhibition. In addition to the items that are normally on display in the hall, there will displays ranging from cadet equipment and forces help organisations, to items of wartime memorabilia and visual displays of old photographs.

At 7.30 pm Mr Don Mason will give an illustrated talk on his wartime flying experiences and this will be followed by the lowering of the AFD flag in a short sunset ceremony.

Proceeds will go to Poppyscotland and RBLS welfare funds. Come along and show your support.
