9th May 2013
Game On Scotland great opportunity for Far North schools to get involved in Glasgow 2014.
Local MP John Thurso is encouraging local schools to get involved in the Glasgow 2014 Commonwealth Games by signing up for the educational opportunities available through the Game On Scotland educational programme.
To kick off the programme Game On Scotland is offering school pupils the opportunity to showcase their artistic talents by creating Games inspired artwork for the Athletes Village.
With the Games and the 17 sports on show there as inspiration, primary and secondary school pupils are being asked to come up with 6,500 pieces of artwork to decorate bedrooms in the Athletes Village. The winning designs will be gifted to the visitors as a memento of their time in Scotland.
The Game On Scotland is now live and has a wealth of material for teachers to inspire and motivate pupils and help them engage with the Games across the curriculum.
Teachers can register for the site at www.gameonscotland.org.
