Lots of action and very good prize money attracts a good number of heavyweight athletes each year.

Dancing is major feature each year and the standard of entries is very high. Contestants come mainly from Caithness but each year there are a number from other places as far as Canada and Australia. Highland dances and jigs feature in the competitions.
