Highland Council Service Arrangements For Christmas and New Year

The Council offers the season's greetings to visitors to our web site. Our network of Service Points and administrative offices will be closed between 4 pm on Monday 24 December and 9 am Thursday 3 January 2013.

Our out of hours emergency numbers will be operational 24x7 during the festive break. These are Health and Social Care � 0845 601 4813; Housing � 0845 700 2005; TEC Services (Roads/Flooding/Lighting) � 01349 886690.

Our Service Centre (01349 886606) and most Health and Social Care offices will be open to handle general enquiries between 9 am to 4 pm on Thursday 27 and Friday 28 December as well as on Monday 31 December. It will be closed on 25 and 26 December and also on 1 and 2 January 2013.

Refuse collection arrangements:
Normal collection on Tuesday 25 December 2012, will be collected on Saturday 22 December 2012.
Normal collection on Tuesday 1 January 2013, will be collected on Saturday 29 December 2012.
Normal collection on Wednesday 2 January 2013, will be collected on Saturday 5 January 2013.
There will be no garden waste or bulky uplift collections between 22 December 2012 - 6 January 2013.

Burial Grounds/Administration: please contact local Funeral Director who will advise of procedures.

Registrars: Registrations can be carried out an any office in Scotland. Highland Registration Offices will be closed from 4 pm on Monday 24 December 2012 and reopen at 9 am on Thursday 3 January 2013.

For essential registrations only, Inverness Registration Office (01463 256400) will be open from 9 am to 12.30 pm on Thursday 27, Friday 28 and Monday 31 December. Fort William Registration Office (01397 704583) is open for emergency registrations on Friday 28 December and Monday 31 December between 10 am - 12 Noon.

Ferries: Corran/Camusnagaul � no service 25 & 26 December and 1 & 2 January.
