What we do:-
Work in partnership with NHS Audiology, Deaf Services and Hearing Support Team and Sight Action
Provide practical help and advice on hearing and sight loss at 2 drop-in centres in Wick and Thurso
Information, demonstration and procurement of environmental aids to assist daily living
Referrals to
- NHS Audiology for review/adjustment of hearing aid
- Deaf Services Team for specialist equipment in the home relating to hearing loss
- Sight Action for specialist equipment to enable independent daily living
Routine hearing aid upkeep, supply and fitting tubing and NHS battery issue and sale of private hearing aid batteries
Staff and trained volunteers visit nursing/care/residential homes, local hospitals or the housebound
Quarterly Rural Clinics in outreach areas[/list]
