Thurso Library has returned to its newly-refurbished permanent site in Davidson’s Lane. This building was built in 1862 as the Miller Institute and was later turned into the Thurso Library and Swanson Gallery and stands at the end of Sinclair land in Davidson’s Street. With its clock tower and pillared facade it makes for an imposing but welcoming building in Thurso.
Bookbug
We offer a regular Bookbug session on a Tuesday 14:00 to 14:30 and Friday 10:30 to 11:00
Lego Club
Tuesday 18:30 to 19:30.
Learn to knit
Drop in knitting group takes place every 2nd Saturday 10 30 to 12:00. Please contact Thurso Library for the next date.
Otago in the Library
Otago class is provided by High Life Leisure . A gentle excersise to leave you feeling fit and fabulous. Every Wednesday 12:00 to 13:00. Please note there is a charge for non HLH members.

Celebrate Libraries Week by taking part in special activities at your local library! 
Next week is Libraries Week and High Life Highland will be running activities at libraries in our local communities across the length and breadth of the Highlands. Libraries Week runs from 3 to 9 October 2022 and is an annual showcase and celebration of the best that libraries have to offer.
High Life Highland Libraries online resources numbers soar during covid lockdown
High Life Highland Libraries have been given top marks by members and non-members alike as they turn to the Charity's online resources to help provide extra support for health and wellbeing during the Covid-19 outbreak. Feedback on the Library services in Highland, including online ‘Bookbug' sessions, e-books, audio-books and the online newspaper service has shown that people have quickly adapted to take advantage of the services on offer.

Scotlands People Hub opens at Inverness
The eagerly-awaited access to ScotlandsPeople Hub for the public to search the birth, death and marriage records unassisted has finally come on-stream in Inverness. The recent addition to the services provided at the Highland Archive and Registration Centre, Bught Road, Inverness also provides access on-line to valuation rolls with the facility to search by street, wills and testaments and Catholic records for all of Scotland.
