An exhibition of work by pupils from Thurso High School Art department. There is also a calendar made up of work by the pupils available for £3.

Joanne B Kaar workshop on folklore
Saturday 6th February 2016
Folk tales from Scandinavian countries, Scotland and Newfoundland talk of mariners and buying wind; to help them get to their fishing grounds or return home. Three knots were tied in material and sold to mariners, often by women. Joanne will tell us more about wind knots and help us make our own with personalised message tags which she will exchange from children in Newfoundland Canada. This is part of a craft residency Joanne will take part in this year.
