Several Houses Raided By Police In Wick After Community Concerns Raised About Drugs

Search warrants executed in Wick.

Police in Caithness have executed search warrants at a number of addresses in Wick Yesterday (Tuesday 29 December 2015) with the assistance of officers from Operational Support Division and other units based outwith the area. As a result of these actions, a quantity of suspected controlled drugs were seized and enquiries are currently ongoing.

Detective Sergeant Diane Smith said "As part of the local policing priorities, the community of Wick highlighted drug misuse as an issue of concern. As has been shown today, where we receive information in relation to these substances, we will take robust action.

"The key to our success in tackling this serious crime, is the continued help and assistance from the community and I would urge anyone who has information regarding criminality to contact the police, which they can do in confidence, on 101, or anonymously by contacting Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111."
