Comic Relief offers free software

The charity Comic Relief is offering other charities free use of Gift Aid software it has developed to work with HM Revenue & Customs’ (HMRC) new online filing system.

HMRC introduced Charities Online in April and charities are now required to submit claims using the system or use the new paper form which came into effect 01 October 2013.

Comic Relief said its HMRC-accredited Gift Aid Interface software links directly with Charities Online. The charity stated that it was being made available on an "open-source" basis because some charities were unable to meet the start date for the new system.
