Since opening in 2000, the ERI has become a dynamic research organisation with a young, highlymotivated team, and the ethos of multi- and inter-disciplinarity is securely embedded. Today, the ERI has become a focus for promoting excellence in research in the region, largely due to the ability of its investigators to work with stakeholder, commercial, academic and educational organisations alike.

The ERI has an extensive network of academic, stakeholder and business partners across the region and nationally. International collaborations extend from Europe (e.g. France, Spain, Portugal, Italy, Germany, Czech Republic, Ireland, Sweden, Finland) to North and South America (e.g. USA, Canada, Chile) and Asia (e.g. China, Taiwan).
