Thurso Grows, a climate change project run by Thurso Community Development Trust and funded by Climate Challenge Scotland, is holding an open day at Thurso Grows Community Garden.

The project has turned the garden in Falconer Waters Court into a vibrant growing space and are planning further development and expansion throughout this year. Thurso Grows ran many successful events last year including a harvest festival, Samhain celebrations and their big lunch event. In the last eight months, they have reduced Thurso's carbon emissions by 272 tonnes through increasing growing places and reducing food waste going to landfill.

Thurso Grows has a full schedule of workshops and activities planned for 2020 and are inviting all to the garden on Saturday 21st March 1pm to 4pm to find out about ways to get involved or even just give a little more information on the project to anyone curious.

There will be demonstrations on composting, seed planting, nature crafts for children, a seed and plant swap and food provided by Stacks Bistro. If you would like more information on the open day or how to get involved in Thurso Grows please e-mail ThursoGrows@ThursoCDT.co.uk or visit www.ThursoCDT.co.uk/ThursoGrows
