Right now, it may seem like everyone is in the festive spirit across the world, but how dedicated is
Scotland to Christmas? Street names can be strange, fun and rude- but they can also be festive.

As Christmas is around the corner, Sellhousefast.uk did some digging to find out which area in Scotland is home to the most festive street names. They searched up a range of seasonal and Christmas
related words and added up the total.

JUST HOW FESTIVE ARE THE STREETS OF SCOTLAND?

Sellhousefast found that there are just under 100 Christmas related street names. Saints
and members of the nativity proved most popular. Mary was most popular with 16
different street names, Joseph came second with 3 and St Nicholas last with only one.
Glasgow is home to the most festive street names (26), Dundee second (17) and Aberdeen (12).

 KING - 33 (Great King Street / Kings Place / Kingsway Court)
 BOW - 13 (Bowfield place / Bowhouse place / Bowmore road)

Top 7 Festive Street Names in Scotland

Great King Street
St Marys Drive
St Joseph's Place
St Nicholas Drive
Hollybush
Bowfield place
Holyrood road

Holly and Holy also proved popular with three different street names each.

Meanwhile Christmas Street names in England seem to be even more popular.

The East of England is the region home to the most festive street names
Rudolph is NOT the most popular reindeer when it comes to street names
ST Nicholas Street discovered to be the most common festive road name
The UK is home to just under 300 festive street names, Christmas pie avenue possibly being the most festive of all

Street names can be strange, fun and rude- but they can also be festive. As Christmas is around the corner, Sellhousefast.uk did some digging to find out which region of the UK is home to the most festive street names. They searched up a range of seasonal and Christmas related words into Streetlist and added up the total per region.

THE 5 MOST COMMON FESTIVE WORDS FOUND AS STREET NAMES ACROSS ENGLAND:
St Nicholas (103 variations found - most popular in the East of England)
Shepherd road/lane/street/close (50; North West)
Pine tree close/lane/street etc (37; West Midlands)
Noel road (27; East Midlands)
Stocking lane/close/drove/hill (18; North East)
There were also 10 streets with the word "turkey" in them, 9 that included mistletoe, and there were even 2 Gingerbread Lanes and a Christmas Pie Avenue.

THE EAST OF ENGLAND NAMED MOST FESTIVE REGION
East of England (56 festive-themed streets; St Nicholas being the most common)
South East (36; St Nicholas)
North West (36; Shepherd)
West Midlands (35; St Nicholas)
East Midlands (33; Noel)
North East (28; St Nicholas)
South West (26; St Nicholas)
London (22; St Nicholas)

Sellhousefast.uk found the East of England to be the region in the UK with the most festive names (a whopping 53 streets had Christmas-themed names), followed by the South East (36), and North West (36). Greater London was found to be the region with the least festive cheer, being home to only 8% of the seasonal street names studied - the fewest in England.

DO YOU LIVE ON A ROAD NAMED AFTER A REINDEER?
The housing experts were also able to find street names for 6 out of 9 reindeer; Prancer, Blitzen and Dasher being the ones missing.

The most common reindeer-related street names were:
1. Comet: this reindeer is the most commonly found on England's streets - there were 61 in total. Most of the roads are in the North West of England.
2. Vixen has 15 different street names. The South of England and East of England are both home to the most street names involving Vixen.
3. Rudolph has 6 street names; the majority being based in London and the most popular street name being Rudolph street.
4. Dancer has 5 street names, nearly all of them are in London and the most popular name being Dancer road
5. Cupid has 2 street names; Cupid's Chase can be found in Southend-on-Sea and cupid's alley in York
6. Donner, Derby is currently the only place paying homage to Donner
