Green Health Week 22nd-29th April 2019 with NHS Highland
Scotland's outdoors is an under-used health resource - our parks, paths, local green spaces, countryside and coast can supply our 'daily dose' of physical activity and mental refreshment.

Green Health Week is a promotional campaign encouraging people to get out into their local wild spaces, gardens and parks for improved health and wellbeing. It aims to celebrate the variety of activities available to people of all ages and the benefits that can be gained from time in nature. Most people have some green space close to where they live, work or go to school. It requires minimal specialist equipment to access it. Going for a walk, having a picnic or simply sitting to watch a sunset are examples of activities that can help to make you feel good.

Making use of our outdoor places can help guard against key health issues such as depression and heart disease. It can also be fun. It can connect people to nature and to each other. It energises and inspires us in our day to day lives.

"I was a very unhealthy couch potato 5 years ago, now I enjoy walking & the improved health it's given me so much, that I can't bear that other people may be missing out - so I just want to share it with everyone!" - Participant from the Broadford Walking Group.

To celebrate this exciting initiative, MFR are giving you the chance to win a £150 voucher for an Outdoor Store of your choice! All you have to do is send us a picture of your favourite outdoor space below! To read more and to enter the competition online
