More Veggie Less Meat - It Seems Many More Are Thinking About It
8th February 2019
In the last couple of years it seems meat consumption is being reduced by many even if they are not cutting it out. The number of vegetarians and vegans is rising but it seems many more are trying it with reduced meat eating and things like Meat Free Mondays and son.
The internet is awash with stories and tips on recipes and health advice.
More Radio and TV programmes are talking about the topic and many many web sites offer advice. A recent film trending on Netflix is a hard hitting one about the meat industry and how we are being conned somewhat like the tobacco industry did years ago. "What The Health" particularly talks about health issue and relates it to the food industry and in particular the huge conglomerates affecting and persuading us what to eat even from childhood. this latest film is follow-up to the 2014 Leonardo DiCaprio-backed documentary feature "Cowspiracy: The Sustainability Secret."
The Meat and Dairy industry control many reports about how healthy their products are with massive marketing budgets.
Many say they have improved their weight, their overall health and reduce reliance on medications for things such as diabetes and high blood pressure.
Scotland in particular needs to do something in the light of the Stalling Life Expectancy in Scotland in reports published today 8th February 2019.
The veggies are fighting back on the internet.
