Peatlands Walks in the Flow Country

A programme of free guided walks led by The Highland Council Rangers on behalf of the Flows to the Future Project starts in earnest next week. This series of walks takes place across the Flow Country and west coast peatlands from Wednesday 18 May 2016.

There are a variety of distances and terrains available and you can be sure to witness the stunning remote scenery of the peatlands.

Why not join the Rangers on the spectacular historic Moine Path walk from the south end of Loch Hope by Ben Hope and down to the Kyle of Tongue at Kinloch? You can also explore the Berriedale Strath or the remote Assynt "cnoc and loch" landscape around Drumbeg. Alternatively why not visit the ancient carved stones and a druids cave on the Clachtoll peat road?

Whichever walk you choose to take part in you are sure to see peatland landscapes and wildlife at their best and have some great opportunities to capture them with your camera.

Make sure you bring suitable clothing, footwear and a packed lunch if necessary. Booking is required to secure your place but all walks are free.
