The HC rangers are organising a wildlife festival.

The North Coast 500 Wildlife Festival runs from 28th of May - 5th of June 2016 and has been created to bring the best of the outdoors straight to the North Coast 500 travellers and others at locations across the route.

It features some very special Highland Council Countryside Rangers events. Together with North West Highlands Geopark, Scottish Natural Heritage, John Muir Trust, RSPB, Flow to the Future, Caithness Wildlife Tours, Coigach and Assynt Living Landscape and the Bumblebee Conservation Trust we have developed a fantastic programme of guided walks and other events to highlight the wonderful wildlife that can be seen in the North Highlands.

The fun and family-friendly activity programme focuses on the amazing wildlife, heritage, history and nature of the area. Events such as guided walks, puffin watching, boat trips, safaris and much, much more! There are opportunities to look for puffins, golden eagles, badgers, bumblebees, otters, seals, dolphins and more with an experienced guide. If you want to climb a mountain, go for a breath-taking coastal walk, sit and watch birds or partake in an art workshop then this could be for you.

However many of the events need to be booked so get in early.

You can see a full list of the events by downloading a copy of the programme from NC500 website here -
