Wick To Stornoway Aircraft Incident

A report was received on Sunday 17th May 2015 by Stornoway Police of a Twin Engine Cessna with 2 persons on board travelling from Wick to Iceland having difficulty with one engine.

Members of Police Scotland, Scottish Fire North from Stornoway and Shawbost, Stornoway Coastguard, and Scottish Ambulance and RNLI all attended at Stornoway airport to assist members of the HIAL Fire and Rescue team. The plane landed safely without incident approx 1915.

The A866 Stornoway to Point road was closed for a period of time. Police Stornoway would like to thank members of the public for the patience at the time.
