The North Highland College UHI is delighted to announce that they have been awarded with the Buttle UK Quality Mark. The award will allow the College to further enhance its support to young people with a care background. North Highland College UHI is now one of a number of academic partners within the University of the Highlands and Islands to be awarded the mark.
The Buttle UK Quality Mark requires educational institutions to demonstrate that they have a robust strategy in place to ensure that students from a care background can access a package of support, be it pastoral, educational or financial.

A named person has been identified within the College, who will be available to provide support and guidance to overcome any barriers which may affect their learning or student experience.

Principal, Donald MacBeath said: "Being awarded the Buttle UK Quality Mark demonstrates the commitment North Highland College UHI has to care leavers. We hope this will encourage more young people from a care background to come to college with the assurance that measures are in place to support them throughout their journey".

The support is available for current and new students and anyone looking more information on how the College can assist care leavers can in the first instance contact the college's student support team on nhcstudentsupport[AT]uhi.ac.uk.
