Special Events

Christmas Market
6th December
10am - 4pm
On 6th December we will be running our annual Christmas Market. There will be up to 24 stalls selling locally made/crafted/produced goods. The Thurso Christmas Fun Day will also take place on the 6th December and Santa's Grotto will be in Caithness Horizons throughout the day so the building should be bustling with people and Christmas spirit!

If you are a local crafter/maker/producer and you are interested in booking a stall we still have a few tables left. Tables are £20 which includes tea, coffee and lunch of soup and sandwiches for one person. Any additional helpers wanting lunch will be asked to pay an extra £5. The tables are going fast so don’t leave it too late to book!

Peter’s Pals – Young Curators’ Club

Dounreay Exhibition Design Workshop With George Mackay

Sunday 23rd November, 2pm – 4pm

Following on from the successful panels designed by members of Peter’s Pals on display in the Robert Dick exhibition and the new Early Medieval Sculpture exhibition we will be working with "Eejits" artist George Mackay again to create another cartoon strip of Peter. This time the new panels featuring Peter will tell the story of Dounreay and the Dounreay Materials Testing Reactor. They will go on display in a new exhibition about Dounreay that will open in Spring/Summer 2015.
