Caithness and North Sutherland Fund Grant Awards 2014 - R3

The Caithness & North Sutherland Fund has awarded over £65K at its latest grant assessment round. The funding has been granted to five community/voluntary groups towards projects that will benefit people living in the Caithness & North Sutherland area.

Funded by the Nuclear Decommissioning Authority via DSRL, the CNSFund assesses applications quarterly. The closing date for applications for the next assessment round is the 24th of October 2014. The Fund's aims are; to increase the attractiveness of Caithness & North Sutherland as a place to live, work and invest with particular emphasis on achieving environment, social, culture and infrastructure improvements. Towards the costs of refurbishing Wick riverside play park with new innovative and stimulating play and fitness equipment.

No Limits Caithness Project

Towards No Limits Caithness annual operating costs to continue its childcare service, providing a range of supported activities during holiday and weekend periods for young people with additional needs.

HomeAid Delivery Van Project

Towards the costs to purchase a new van for HomeAid to continue its furniture collection/re-use project, redistributing unwanted furniture/items to improve living conditions and quality of life and divert waste from landfill.

Transport for Tongue Ltd
T4T North Highland College UHI Link Project

Towards the costs for T4T to operate a pilot community transport service for the 2014-15 academic year; from Talmine to Thurso integrating with North Highland College times, operating under a Section 19 travel permit from Mondays to Fridays to improve North Sutherland access to courses at NHC in Thurso.
