Both of Janet and Calum Macleod's sons are set to undergo life-saving bone marrow transplants.

Their two little boys - Arran (4) and Euan (6) - suffer from chronic granulomatous disorder (CDG) and have been helped by the Anthony Nolan Trust so have organised a ceilidh, auction and supper in Wick on September 27, to benefit the UK stem cell register.

Items going under the hammer include a John Lennon image by prominent photographer Terry O'Neill and a photo of Kate Moss by Mario Testino.

Among other top lots are three days fishing on the River Thurso, two tickets for Deacon Blue's gig in Glasgow on December 1, including a chance to meet the band, two signed Rangers footballs, a signed Dundee United shirt donated by Gary Mackay-Steven.

The ceilidh and auction is being held at the Norseman Hotel in Wick this Saturday at 8pm.

Tickets priced at £15. Anyone not able to make it on the night can leave sealed bids with Lynn Innes - lynninnes[AT]btinternet.com or phone 01847 871275.
