Caithness Heart Support Group's Big Band Bash proved a hit with locals.

Patrons who turned up at the Norseman Hotel, on Saturday night were treated to a swinging programme of nostalgic numbers in melody and song for listening and dancing to.

Keiss demonstrated that it's not just television that has the monopoly on Strictly Come Dancing, with two separate routines one by Marianne and Martin Tait and the other, featuring Maureen Miller and Hilary Buchannan, both of whom received warm applause.

Group chairman Ernie Ross paid tribute to the band and the audience for their support and to the many firms who contributed to the raffle prizes. The cash it generated, along with admission receipts will help support the group's commitment to providing medical equipment in the county.

LOCAL Strictly Come Dancing fans will have an opportunity to see a full dance session at the Keiss Hall on Saturday 25 October 2014. However, the number of tickets are limited and those interested in attending the licensed event should contact Dorothy Begg on 01955 631266 or e-mail her at dotbegg[AT]hotmail.co.uk
