Funding Opportunity - SCOTRAIL FOUNDATION GRANTS

The ScotRail Foundation has announced that its grants programme has re-opened for applications. Through the programme, groups and organisations in Scotland can apply for funding for community development projects. In particular for projects that provide support for children and young people; improve the local environment; and improve local communities general health and wellbeing. ScotRail would prefer to link projects to some of their own corporate themes (or a local train station) but this is not essential. This could include addressing vandalism, particularly at train stations; respecting the railway and preventing accidents; and improving the local community's connections with/or awareness of a local train station; etc. ScotRail has two categories of award, these are:£250 - £1,000 and £1,001 - £5,000. Previous projects funded include a cafe / restaurant at Tain station and an Artist's Gallery at Kinghorn station. The next closing date for applications is the 1st September 2014.
