Body discovered following a search for a missing person in the Wick area

Following a search for a missing person which commenced shortly after 11:30 hours on Monday 21 April 2014, police received a report from HM Coastguard that a body of a woman had been discovered on the shoreline in an area of Wick known locally as 'The Trinkie'.

Police can now confirm the identity of the body as:
Donna MacAlpine (22) from the Wick area.

Miss MacAlpine's family would now ask that the media respect their wishes to be left alone to grieve at this difficult time.

A report has been submitted to the Procurator Fiscal.
